Credentials issued to you contain information provided to UAC by the issuing organisation. The Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) (UAC) does not warrant or represent that this information is free from errors or omissions. Issuing organisations may amend details without notice and for any reason and reserve the right to revoke any credentials they issue.
You accept all risks and responsibility for losses, damages, costs, and other consequences resulting directly or indirectly from using CredFolio and any information or material available from it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UAC excludes all liability for any loss or damage (including without limitation, any special or consequential loss or damage) to any person arising directly or indirectly out of the use or inability to use this site and any information or material available from it.
Privacy Policy
CredFolio is owned and operated by the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) (UAC). UAC values the privacy of your personal information and recognises the importance of protecting it. UAC is bound by the following legislation:
- Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW)
- Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This means UAC must uphold the NSW State Information Protection Principles and the Australian Privacy Principles. UAC is committed to upholding these principles and has implemented policies and procedures to ensure they are met.
About this privacy policy
This Privacy Policy sets out how and what information is collected, maintained, and disclosed for the services UAC provides to users of CredFolio in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you do not agree to any of the provisions of this Policy, you should not use CredFolio. By registering a CredFolio account, you agree to your information being collected, held, and disclosed as set out in this Privacy Policy.
What information does UAC collect through CredFolio?
Information you provide to us: We collect information you provide to us, which includes:
- your name, email address, and (if choosing to enable two-factor authentication) your phone number
- other details, such as a personal image or statement when you choose to add such information to your credentials or otherwise provide it through your use of CredFolio.
Information from issuing organisations: An issuing organisation may, at its discretion, share information about you with UAC platforms and services to facilitate issuance of a credential to your CredFolio account. This information varies depending on the credential being issued but may include:
- your contact details (including name and email address) and other identifiers (e.g. student number or USI)
- your date of birth
- your educational achievements (or other outcomes).
Information we collect automatically: We use server logs to record and analyse activity on CredFolio and related services, provide stable online resources, and improve the services we offer. These logs also allow us to detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised access to our systems. All server requests are logged, and information captured by this process may include:
- IP address
- session timestamps
- geolocation
- browser type
- operating system
- referrals
- resources used
- error data.
Data is encrypted and securely stored, and access is restricted under strict protocols. UAC will only collect information for lawful purposes related to its function.
Why does UAC collect this information?
UAC collects the information necessary for us to provide the CredFolio service and support ongoing improvement of that service.
How does UAC hold this information?
Your personal information is held in secure, encrypted storage managed by UAC and located in Australian data centres. It is protected under the relevant privacy legislation as described above.
How does UAC use this information?
UAC uses this information to provide a credentialing service to issuing organisations and to provide credential holders with secure and reliable access to their digital credentials. In providing these services, we use information to:
- generate and sign any digitally verifiable credentials issued to you by an issuing organisation
- make your digital credentials available to you via your CredFolio account
- communicate with you about important events (e.g. issuance of a new credential to your CredFolio account, revocation of a credential, etc.) and to assist you with operational requests, such as resetting your password
- revoke credentials previously issued to you on instruction by the issuing organisation
- analyse and report on credential issuing metrics and other metainformation (e.g. the number of credentials issued by a particular organisation)
- secure our systems, prevent fraud, and help us protect the security of CredFolio accounts
- analyse and understand our users to support improvement of our service offering.
How does UAC disclose this information?
UAC does not buy or sell mailing lists. Your personal information is only used to support provision of services as outlined in this policy and will not otherwise be shared by UAC. However, CredFolio includes functions, which afford you the option to share and/or make public your achievements. By using these functions, you are sharing your information and therefore any subsequent use or retention by any third party you have chosen to share your information with is outside the scope of this policy and UAC’s privacy obligations.
How do I access my information?

What do I do if the information UAC holds about me is incorrect?
Please tell us. We want our records to be accurate, complete and up to date. Unless we disagree with you about the accuracy or completeness of a record, we will generally correct it upon request, or suggest alternative arrangements for updating our records. Contact the Privacy Officer:
